The core app is free to use, and you can try plenty of content without paying. Some advanced features and subscriber perks are part of Million Whys Premium.

We cover science, nature, psychology, technology, economics, history, and internet culture, plus current trending topics when they matter. New questions, explainers, and user-created cards are added regularly.

Points are based on correctness and speed. Correct answers earn 500–1000 points: answer within 3 seconds for the maximum 1000 points, with a linear decrease to 500 points at 10 seconds or slower. Wrong answers still earn 400 points — because learning matters too!

Each question is associated with knowledge tags (e.g., "Physics", "Psychology"). When you answer a question, points are added to ALL tags on that question. Your overall ranking is based on your highest single tag score — so specializing in a topic you love can help you climb the leaderboard!

The daily ranking shows points earned today only. It resets each day, giving everyone a fresh chance to compete. Great for daily motivation!

In challenges, correct answers earn 500–1000 points based on speed (you have up to 30 seconds per question), and wrong answers earn 400 points. Your total challenge score is the sum of all question scores. Compete with friends to see who gets the highest total!

Daily streaks track how many consecutive days you answer questions. Keep your streak alive by answering at least one question each day!

A Streak Freeze protects your streak when you miss a day. You earn one free Streak Freeze when you create an account. Use it wisely to preserve your hard-earned streak!

Trending turns hot topics into short explainers and playable quiz batches. It helps you understand why something is in the news instead of just seeing the headline.

Yes. The Create tab helps you draft a topic, generate questions with AI assistance, refine the result, and publish it so other people can learn from it.

Daily Wonder is a special featured question that changes every day. It highlights a fascinating topic with a curated knowledge card, image, and detailed explanation. Check back daily for a new wonder!

Topics help Million Whys tailor what you see next. Set your preferred topics in Profile to get more questions, exploration paths, and recommendations in areas you care about.

Yes. After finishing a batch or opening the ranking flow, you can create a challenge link and share the same question set with friends to compare scores.

Go to your Profile page, open Settings, and switch between English and Chinese there.

You can try Million Whys as a guest, but your progress won't be saved. Creating a free account lets you save your streaks, compete on leaderboards, and sync across devices.
